The ALT Group is a Community Interest Company created by the local Community for the local Community,
in Consett, County Durham and You are invited to be part of it.

We are adaptagens for change and do what we need in order to reconnect our Community to each other and our environment.
We design systems, create projects, host spaces and bring people together.

Tired of seeing our local town suffer due to political decisions made over our heads.
Sick of seeing our friends and family unwell with nowhere to turn for support.
Fed up of seeing our neighbors and colleagues scrimping and saving and struggling to pay bills.

A group of local activists with a big idea started The ALT Group.

We want to find solutions that help people practically in the short term while creating systems to support people for the long term.

The ALT Group are friendly, local people, just like you, who band together to offer free of charge community activities. We currently have two active projects, Consett Community Fridge and Blackhill Club Community Garden.

We know that because you have been draw to us, you are ready to take back your power and create positive changes in your community.

We are designing and developing more systems of connection and empowerment based around meeting your needs. We are open to working with anyone and everyone in our community in order to reach our social and environmental goals. Feel free to get in touch and get involved.
